MOSCOW, March 28 (RIA Novosti) - According to preliminary estimates, damage from looting in Kyrgyzstan on the night of March 24 amounts to some $100 million, Director of the International Business Council David Grant said.

The IBC notes positive changes in the security system of economic facilities over the last three days, the Kyrgyz Kabar information agency reports.

The IBC is a non-government organization of foreign investors working in Kyrgyzstan

Grant pointed out that the council offers assistance for maintaining law and order, macroeconomic stability and the protection of the banking system in the short-term perspective. For a longer period the IBC is ready to help improve the legislative base, tax regime and management in order to attract investment in the private sector, modernize the judicial system and combat corruption.

The IBC agreed to invest $80 million in the republic's economy in 2005, Grant remarked. Now the implementation of the decision is open to question, because investors want to be sure in Kyrgyzstan stable development and the government's rigorous compliance with assumed obligations, the official was quoted as saying.
